SSWR Presidential Task Force on Publications Bulletin Board

Standards for Publications

Posted by sswrptfp on January 24, 2007

Reviewers and editors often have to make decisions about what is an acceptable level of information or rigor needed to justify publication and what scientific standards we should hold so that the social work literature can have maximum impact. This thread could forward such discussions.

One Response to “Standards for Publications”

  1. I couldn’t tell from the SSWR report whether the publication review process talked with folks such as the editor and board of the British Journal of Social Work. That journal seems to have extremely high-quality social work practice and policy articles that must be read by some practitioners, and certainly are read by scholars. Perhaps finding out how they are so successful would help us in that direction. It’s also interesting from the SSWR report that the highest volume seems to be in the child welfare arena. Do child welfare agencies subscribe to more journals? Do they read (discuss?) published articles? Be interesting to find out.
